| Heading out to district meeting |
Hello Everyone!
I had myself a pretty excellent week. On Wednesday, I spent the day planting more tulip bulbs. I got around 750 bulbs planted that day. Not as much as last time, but that was mostly because I was working on that project by myself. Funny story, while I was digging around and planting, I stumbled upon a patch of sweet potatoes that have been growing on the grounds, which is a score! I think a week or two ago, I found some and brought them home, and made a really good chowder with them.
Thursday was pretty fun, as Zone Conference was that day. I think that my favorite part about that meeting though was when President Rasmussen went over the
Light the World initiative for this year. It is looking like it is Gong to be really cool this year. For those who don't now, Light the World is a Christmas initiative put out by the church that helps to bring more of a service oriented Christmas Spirit into the lives of people who participate, and to all who are effected by it. It is super cool, and I had a blast participating in it last year, and I really look forward to doing it again this year.
Friday was a really wet day at the temple. Jordan and I went and did a bunch of mowing. I had to change my coat for a new one though while I was doing it, because it was raining so much that I was starting to get wet through my coat. thankfully after lunch it let up, so we didn't have to blow leaves around in the rain.
Saturday I took it easy. Ok, this isn't exactly missionary related, but I am just so excited that this happened! So, over the weekend, my uncle and aunt came to visit, and it was because of what happened on Saturday. One of my most favorite authors ever,
Brandon Sanderson, came up to Washington for a book signing! Ahhhh! We got 14 of our books signed by him, including his new book that he just came out with, "Skyward". He gave
a really cool talk during the signing too, ,and if you look him up on Facebook, you can find it there. I highly suggest watching it. Ok, on to Sunday. Not to much out of the ordinary happened there. A pretty easy and wonderful Sabbath Day.
And on Monday, I spent another whole day blowing leaves around and getting rid of them. I also went to my first official YSA Family Home Evening. So, to explain, as a church service missionary, I can participate in all YSA activities, however, I am not allowed to date anyone until my mission is over. I had a really good time though! There was a lesson to start by the YSA Elders, and they talked about the importance of expressing love to others, and especially when it comes to sharing the gospel with others. Then, I got to take a trip down memory lane as we all had a Nintendo 64 Super Smash Bros. Tournament. I had a blast with that!
And since today is nearly over(sorry for writing this so late again!) I was at District Meeting today, and we had a really good talk about staying motivated and finding ways to express our gratitude and find happiness. I really liked what went on there, and it even helped me out a little. And after that, I spent a few hours with the Elders from my ward, and we went out and did some finding. We had a couple of good talks, and we almost got into one house, which was awesome! Now, I need to get up and finish cleaning up this house, so that we can feed the Elders, since they are coming for dinner. So, I hope that y'all have a most excellent week wherever you are at!
