| The most awesome bench in Naperville...or the world! |
Hello everyone! This week has been a busy one. Elder Faimalo and I started it off by walking around the downtown Naperville area looking for new investigators on the 4th of July. We spent a good couple of hours there, but nobody really wanted to talk with us. The only person that we talked to really was Eric, and he was a cool guy that was tearing it up on a keyboard on the street. He plays some really cool stuff. He probably won't become an investigator now, but who knows in the future right?

District meeting this week was really fun. Elder Faimalo sent us out running around the
stake center in pairs trying to find slips of paper that he had hidden, and his message with that was that we have to really be looking everywhere to find new people to teach. It was really fun!
This week, I have met my first person that is trying to "save our souls". He was really fun to talk to though. I liked hearing about what he believes and studying the Bible with him. He will probably not become an Investigator at this time, but I am super happy that he is so rooted in his faith! He really believes what he is talking about, and that is good.
The same day we talked with him, we met with a recent convert/less-active who has gone through a ton of stuff in her life, and she is just really struggling right now. We have been keeping in daily contact with her, just so we can be her friends because she feels abandoned by everyone in this world. Her story is terrible, and I am hoping that Elder Faimalo and I can at least start to get her out of the pit she is in. I was actually able to help her a bit by sharing with her
Doctrine & Covenants 122, a powerful testimony, and
"Keep Your Head Up" by Andy Grammer. That was a fun conversation.
And yes, we have moved to a new apartment now, and let me tell you, it is sooooooo much nicer than the old one. This one was just remodeled recently, and so many things in it are working that are broken in our old place. I am liking it a lot. I have also discovered that the floor is a excellent place to study (not because my desk got destroyed in the move or anything)🙄 . And also this week after we got all settled in, we were finally able to meet with Sylvester again! He has been away every single time that we have stopped by for the past 4 weeks, and we finally caught him home. We invited him an his nephew to be baptized, and they said that they would get back to us this week on that. I am super excited for them!

And I have met my new favorite family this week. They are the Young family, and when we knocked, they let us right in and we just
talked story with them for 3 or so hours. They are such a happy family. We tried to get them to church, but they were unable to make it this week. There is always next week though! And not much happened on Sunday really. Just going to church and learning more about the gospel really, but I had a good time there. We did have two less-actives there that we are working with, so that was pretty cool. So, I guess that is about it for this week. I hope that y'all are having a great day, and that you continue to have a great week!

OH! And Sunday night, we got 3 new investigators. First were Brock and Marie, and we just were stopping in on them to check in on them, and they felt kind of bad that they have never actually sat down with us because they were so busy all the time, and they just sat on their porch and asked us to teach them, and we did. They really enjoyed that, and I think we can now progress with them in the lessons. The third one we just met walking back to our car, and he asked us if we had any material that he could read. We gave him a Book of Mormon, and we are going back to talk with him on Tuesday! Sunday evening was just great! Ok, that is really all for this week! Love y'all!
PS: (from mom's letter) We got called by the Spanish Elders today to help with a move, and we went right over there to help them out. The people we helped may even become investigators eventually. That would be super cool. Something that I learned this week is that though the work is hard and needs to be done, you have to take time to relax a little otherwise you are going to be less productive than you want to be. Oh, I keep forgetting to ask, how is the blog doing? Any cool/funny comments from people?
