A brand new set of tags

Hello Everyone!

This week has been super awesome! Something that I forgot to mention last week was that I got my official service missionary name tags! Yay! With that also came my official reassignment letter, which was pretty cool. On with the week though!

Wednesday, I started off at the temple fixing up one of the trailers with Jordon. Something was up with the wheels, and we had to take the wheels off and grease them all up. We got 3 done without too much of a problem, but the 4th one would not budging, no matter what we did to it(and believe me, we tried a lot of things on that wheel.). So, we left it alone for awhile and went to start the next big temple project, which is digging drainage trenches on the east lawn. Basically, dig a trench, put piping in it, fill it with sand, and then put grass seed on it. We have to put 16 on that lawn, and that day we finished 1. It is going to take a lot of time.

Thursday at the FDC, there were two groups that came in, but the other guy that was there with me told me that he was going to take care of them both, so I didn't really do to much there.

Friday at the temple we chugged along with our trench project, and we got 2 more done that day, and I think most of them dug. Digging them is the easy part, since we have a machine to do it, it is just everything else that takes so long.

Saturday was pretty fun. I was asked to help out with a Mini-MTC that the stake was doing. What I did was answer a couple of questions on what the MTC is like, and kind of how mission life is, so that the youth could get a better understanding of what things are like in the field. I hung out with my siblings for most the rest of the day, until I was needed at a dinner appointment with the Elders. They needed a third guy to come with them, so that they didn't break any rules.

After that though was the Saturday session of Stake Conference, and the special speaker there was Elder Whiting of the Seventy. I actually got to hear from him again on Sunday, and on Monday at Zone Conference. It was a pretty cool weekend there. But on Sunday he talked about the importance of reading the Book  of Mormon each day. He compared it to the story of Moses with the serpent on the staff. We are asked to do it all the time because the Prophets and everyone knows how important it is, and how much it can help us in our daily lives. But because it is something that is so simple, we don't do it as often as we should, and miss out on vital blessings that we need.

On Sunday, he spoke to everyone about how we should be improving our family relationships now. And during Zone Conference, he stressed the absolute importance that the Gathering of Israel is. To put it shortly, this is the only other promise that the Lord has yet to fulfill besides the Second Coming of Christ, which will happen after Israel is gathered. He told us that we should probably hop to it. But, I do think that is about it for my week I hope that y'all have a most excellent week wherever you are at!

Some of the oil from fixing the trailer spilled on the ground...so we lit it on fire.
