Hello Everyone!
This has been a pretty easy week for me. On Wednesday, Jordan and I broke a sweat spreading mulch in the center round about at the front of the temple. When I first looked at it, I thought that it would get done in no time at all, and then the hours went on, and we only got about 3/4 of the way done. I think what made it take so long though was all of the new tulips that were sprouting up. We had to be careful not to step on any of them, and we couldn't bury them in mulch, so was had to be pretty precise in some areas in the bed.
On Thursday, I had a pretty easy day, but I did a dumb. So, I rolled up to the Discovery Center for my evening shift there, and I got everything all set up and ready to go right? I then sat at the front for a little bit, waiting for people to come in, and no one came. So, thinking that it would be a slow night, I went to the recording booth to read for a little(there is a really comfy couch in there). After about an hour, I realized that the person who is supposed to work with me in the center hadn't showed up yet. So, that is when I checked the schedule, and saw that the Center was actually closed for that evening. I just left after that.
Friday Elder Thomas, Jordan, and I tackled the last bit of the round about, and now it looks very pretty now. Right after lunch, we as a grounds crew went out on a shopping trip to get a few things for the grounds. We got some really nice gloves from Costco that are like leather work gloves, but they are super insulated and really warn, which will be really nice when it actually starts getting cold here. We also went to Home Depot and got some plexiglas so that we can make doors for the Gator, because hat is going to stink to drive with no doors in the cold.
Saturday was fun. We had our Ward Christmas party, and there were so many doughnuts. That made me happy! After that I went in to the Discovery Center (yes, it was actually open this time.). The Festival of the Nativities was still going on, so we had a nice amount of traffic coming through. Most of the people we helped though were only in for a quick stop in, so nothing too much to report on there.
Sunday was alright. We had the Elders over for a lesson that evening, and they also helped us to build some of our Christmas tree. We are building an extra special one this year. I will put up a picture of it when it is done.
And then on Monday, I misplaces my alarm clock, so I ended up a bit late to the temple. When I got there though, I helped Jordan move around a bit more mulch, and then we spent the rest of the day blowing leaves out of the parking lot.
So that about does it for me. I hope that y'all have a most excellent day wherever you are at!
Elder Jensen
