| College acceptance letter on Wednesday, track assignment on Thursday, school starts in less than 4 weeks!! |
Hello Everyone!
I had myself a pretty good week this time around. Starting on Wednesday, Jordan and I went around with a trailer full of mulch and we touched up a few spots where the rain had washed away some of the stuff that we put down. We also spent a bit of time power washing some of our equipment. I was smart enough to wear glasses while doing that, so the only part of me that wasn't covered in muck after that was my eyes. I had a lot of fun with it though.
Oh, and exciting news! I have officially been accepted at Brigham Young University-Idaho! I start classes on January 7th. Now, you may be asking yourself, "Aren't you still on a mission? How can you go to school before your mission is over?" Well, in an answer, as a Young Church Service Missionary, I am allowed to start my college education if I choose to. Now, I did not expect to be accepted for the time that they want me to go there, but I will happily do that, since it actually makes a few other things around here line up right. Oh, and in case I didn't mention it, I will be on the Winter/Spring track.
Thursday was an easy and slow day. I had the evening shift in the FDC, so I didn't do too much. Brother Cook and I did start working on our presentation for a ward potluck though. The theme for that one is Family History, so we are going to talk about the center there.
Friday I got to the temple a little late, but I was in time to help spread a bunch of mulch around the flagpole bed. We also went around to a lot of the tree rings on the ground a put mulch around them. They are looking pretty spiffy with that.
On Saturday, the Discovery Center was surprisingly slow. Usually on a Saturday we get a bit of business, but I guess with it being the holidays, people are spending more time with their family, which is most excellent! We did have two families come in together, and they had a wonderful time. And as a side note for that day, I did go and see my brother in his school play, and he did fantastic! They did "Our Town" this time around.
Sunday was cool! A Sister just returned form her mission, and she gave a pretty cool homecoming talk. I also got invited to help out with a blessing that I will be giving tonight, which is always a fun experience. One of my ministering families had a friend in the hospital, and they just waned a blessing.
And finally on Monday, I started off picking up a ton of sticks, because there was a pretty strong windstorm that blew through here, and it left a lot of debris everywhere. We managed to way overfill the back of the Gator with how much we picked up. In fact, we had stuff piling over the front of the Gator. We also got up on the roof of the President's house, and we blew off a bunch of stuff that got up there. And then I spent the rest of the day going around the whole grounds and blowing away all of the pine needles and leaves(trust me, that takes A TON of time!).
So, that about sums it up for me this week!I hope that y'all have a most excellent week wherever you are at!
