It's raining, it's pouring, my hair isn't boring!

It was raining A LOT!

Hello Everyone!

Things are going pretty decent out here. We started off Tuesday going through a ton of papers with Sister Santoyo, trying to help her find a title that she had misplaced. We did not find it, but I think that she is just going to buy another one. We went to see Brother Carr after some lunch, and we finished the Gospel Principles book with him. Now we just have to find what we are going to study together next. We then had a lesson with Jeremy, and we laid out why we have church, and the importance of the Sacrament to him. He was of the mind that we really don't have to go to church every week. Then it was a super cool dinner with a great new family that just moved in, the Cerezo's. This couple is super missionary minded, and that makes me excited!

Wednesday, we had a good District Meeting where everybody got a chance to teach. I like meetings that go that way. Schaumburg 2 enlisted us and the YSA to help out with some service that they couldn't go to, and we just filled a ditch and poured some concrete in the back of one of their members houses. That was pretty fun, but man did it take some time. Basically the only time that we had left was taken up by dinner, and then we also swung by a less active member with Brother Filio.

Thursday we tried to see Patrick and Marvin, but they were both asleep again, so we just did some finding around them. Then we had some lunch and Weekly Planning. Then we saw Mario, and that was an interesting lesson. So, we got about half a lesson in, and then he went off on how he killed a bunch of wannabe thugs, and how he went ad did some Kung fu training in China. I don't even know. Then we sat down with Geraldine with Brother Filio. We are not too sure how to proceed with her. She just likes talking with us, and whenever we try and teach, she kind of just dances around the point. We are going to keep meeting with her though, so we have not lost hope yet. Then we had dinner, and our Zone Leaders showed up, and they ate with us too. They came because they were taking our car. We were getting a new one! That is always exciting. We then had to speed out to the Calderon's, and we had a good time with them. We brought the Cerezo's out with us, and those two families just clicked. It is always great hen that happens.

Friday, we just went around to do a bit of finding until lunch. We then went out to do more finding and see Barbara, an we had  good time with her. Then we had dinner with the Lawrences, and the Zone Leaders ate with us again, because they brought us our new car. We are now the proud drivers of a brand new 2018 Toyota Corolla. Elder Hollist isn't that happy, because he is a big tall guy, and he does not fit very well in there.

Saturday had some good service. We started off at the food pantry, and we just helped them organize a bunch of stuff that day. We then spent some time at Brother Filio's doing some more yard work, and pouring some more concrete. It was good stuff. We did our studies after that, and then ran a couple of stop bys. Dinner kind of finished off the night, since Brother Filio took us out to some place kind of late. It was good stuff though.

Sunday was good. We actually had a couple of people show up at church, which is awesome! We had lunch with the Mejia's after church, and we got into a pretty good talk about Ministering with them, and we set some plans with them to help out with some families. Then we got all of our studies out of the way, and headed out to the top corner of our area for dinner. We then spread back so that we could have MCM with Bother Filio, which was fantastic as per usual.

I guess that is about it for me this week. To end this off, I just want to say that that the people that are around us are there for a reason. We may not know how we can help them, or how they can help us out, but there is a reason that God placed us where we are. Always seek to find that reason. I hope that y'all have a most excellent week wherever you are at!

We got to play with the Cerezo's dogs!

FOURTEEN pictures of ducks...
At one point, Elder Hollist tried to convert a few of them. They were not having it.

We hit 100 miles in our new car!

Early this morning, heading to the gym.  (Brother Filio has been taking us).

I found a license plate!
Do you like my haircut?

I got a haircut!

It's raining, it's poring, my hair isn't boring!
