Wading through snow up to our shins on a busy road

Cleaning up the missionary storage lockers

Hello everyone!

I had myself a pretty decent week. It started off with an alright Exchange with the YSA Elders on Tuesday. Let me just say, the day time was cold. The other Elders dropped Elder Buckway and I off in a neighborhood, and we stayed there for about 4 hours because whenever we tried to leave that place to get to another one, the sidewalks were not cleared away, and we didn't want to really wade through snow that went halfway up our shins along a busy road. So we worked the heck out of that place. We did talk to a few people, and we passed out some stuff, but nothing super solid there, which got us a little down. When we got picked up in the evening though, that is when the evening kind of turned for the better. We switched companions, and I went with Elder Lake to the Bishop's Storehouse to do service there with YSA members. We were the first one's there, and the last to leave, but we had a good time together. Then, to end of our day, we sat down and played a round of Risk until it was time to sleep (it must have even the fastest game in the world, since we only had an hour and a half to complete it. It was chaotic.

Wednesday, was District Meeting. I have to say, I was actually kind of happy with this one. I basically walked my District through how to prepare someone for baptism, and how to conduct a Baptismal interview. I had a lot of fun with that one. The rest of that day though was kind of dull, so I will save you the details.

Thursday was a bit of a busy day though. We had a lesson that morning with an investigator that we had not been able to meet with for some time, and that was pretty cool. He has been taught everything, and really believes that this is the true church. The one reason that he has not been baptized yet is because his wife is super against the church, and wants nothing to do with us. Ed has to basically sneak out of his house if he wants to meet with us, which kind of stinks. But, we do what we can for him, and continue to help him build is faith. The we came back and talked with the people in our apartment office because a bunch of tiles from the wall in the shower fell out, and there was quite a bit of damage back there to the wall. Not good. They should be fixing it today. After that, we went to go have  a lesson with Ana, but that fell through. It was not really her fault though. See, we did not know that she had not told her parents that she was meeting with us, and they kind of freaked out when they did figure out. We are going to step back for a little bit, and let them and the Mathusek's work things over, since we have been teaching her in their home, and they are pretty good friends with Ana's parents.

Friday morning, someone came and put a temporary fix in our bathroom until they could get to it today. After that, we went and helped Danielle put a stroller together. That was pretty fun. Then we came back and got our Weekly Planning out of the way since we had forgotten to do it on Thursday. After all of that, we went and had dinner with the Patterson's, and then we went with Brother Patterson to go and see a member that Elder Smith had been thinking of. Man, that was pretty cool. Her name is Sister Usenko, and she is super spiritual. We got to know her for a little, and then we had a great discussion on the blessings of Family History. The Spirit was super strong there, let me tell you.

Saturday was a service day, let me tell you. We teamed up with the Tech Elders, and we went to town on the Mission storage lockers. That place looks sooooo much better than when we started, but there is still a couple of hours of work to be done there. See, what I think is that when people came to put stuff in there, they kind of just threw it in there, and that is how they all became a mess. But, they are all mostly organized now, and a couple of trash items have been removed. Now when we go back, the goal is to condense 4 lockers down to 3. That will be fun. The reason that we really didn't get to start on that though was because a bunch of snow came out of nowhere, so we had to go back. We got to bike a little bit in the snow, so that was fun. And then, Transfer Calls. Elder Smith will be leaving, which stinks. He is a really great guy, and I will miss him. He will be going to Elgin, and will be serving with Elder Carraway. I will be staying here, and I will be working with Elder Brimhall. I am kind of excited to see what kind of a worker he is.

Then Sunday rolled around. Man, this ward really liked Elder Smith and they are super sad to see him go. He did some good while he was here. Many good byes were said that day. And more will come today.

Well, that is about all for me this week. I hope that y'all are doing most excellent wherevere you are at!
