Conference was so amazing!

Yes, I did finally get a haircut this week. My head feels so weird.

Hello everyone!

General Conference this week has definitely been the highlight of my week. That was super amazing stuff, and I will get to it in just a moment. Gotta go over the week first.

My tablet freaked me out on Tuesday. I forgot to plug in in the night before, but when I went to try and plug it in that morning, it refused to charge. That is not a good thing for a missionary that needs a tablet during the day. Thankfully you the end of the day it decided that it wants to charge again, so that is good.

Also that day, we went to visit one of the most Christ like people I have met so far. She is a member of the church, and she got this infection in her foot that started to spread uncontrollably, so they had to amputate it. We went to just talk with her in rehab, and all she talked about was how much she loved the scriptures and how much she loved helping other people. It was so awesome to be in that room with her. We are going back to talk with her again her this week.

Wednesday's district meeting was all about service and how we can use service opportunities to help share the gospel. We kind of get called out because we don't have a weekly service yet, but we are going to get on going on Tuesday. (We are going to try and get into a food pantry on Tuesday, and set a day and time that we can get in and get going with that.) There is not a lot of places to volunteer in this area, and it took some really hard looking to find a place that we could help out at.

After that, we went home to get ready for the rest of the day, and our neighbor comes out to take to us, and she is on the verge of hysteria. We really had to calm her down,an once she was more willing to listen, we talked to her about the Plan of Salvation, and she just calmed all the way down so fast. It was super cool to just see the change in her appearance as we talked to her about it. We even put her on date for baptism, because she told us that she wants this feeling of peace to be with her all the time.

After her, we went to find Daniel, a former investigator that was in Arizona for awhile, but we heard was back in town. We were able to meet him and his brother. Man, Daniel is the most prepared person for baptism I have ever met! All we have to do is figure out why he has not been baptized yet, and get him to that point.

And our final lesson on Wednesday was with a Catholic guy named Gary. He is a super cool guy. We did a Bible study with him, then we talked about the Plan of Salvation with him as well. He agreed with everything we had to say. He does not want to take the next step however until he has at least finished the Book of Mormon, which we can totally understand.

Thursday was another long day with weekly planning.we also tried to set up a Facebook for Elder Smith, but something weird happen and it kicked him out and won't let him back on. Kind of scares me from trying to set mine up.

We also started an exchange with Elder Christensen and Elder Miner Thursday evening. To start that off, we drove out of our mission. Yep. We were out there because we were visiting a less active family who refused to move out of the ward even though they are out of our area. It is kind of funny though, we had permission to break the rules.

So on Friday, we did the actual exchange. I was working with Elder Miner, and we had not a very productive day. We got raked into a move that should only have taken an hour, but it ended up taking around 3 or 4. That was not fun. Then we got locked out of our apartment, and that took forever to fix. Then when we tried to go and do some work, but the Spanish Elders called us up and asked for  a ride because they did not want to walk on a busy road to get back to their apartment. When I saw what they had to walk on though, I kind of felt a little better about giving them a ride. That took almost 45 minutes to do because there was a bunch of construction on the road and it caused a lot of traffic. Elder Miner and I both felt kind of bad because we didn't get as much work done as we wanted to get done. But, I suppose every missionary has those days sometimes, so you just make up for it in the next days.

After the exchange, Elder Smith and I actually had a small break though with one of our investigators, Phil. He is the guy that is taking things way to logically. He has been taught the lessons enough times, he really does not need them again. He has not however read the whole Book of Mormon. So, we are going to be taking a new approaches with him. First, we are going to chill a bit, and be more his friends than just teachers. Second, we are going to use every appointment with him to just read from the Book of Mormon, and really help him to understand it. We feel that the better he understands it, the greater faith he will be able to develop, and he will learn how to balance the logical and spiritual things.

Chen comes Saturday and Sunday, the ease of General Conference. Man, conference was so amazing! I just loved all of the talks as all of the wisdom that was shared there. It is really hard to pica favorite talk, but if I had to pick one, it would be the one from the Sunday afternoon session by Tad R. Callister. That was a phenomenal talk! All the other were also awesome, and of you have yet to watch Conference, I urge you to take the time out and watch it. I just loved it so much!

And to close off the week, Sunday night I had another weird move. We helped our neighbor move a bunch of stuff to a storage locker, and we nearly got locked in the storage place because her car died, and it took forever to get our car into a position where we could jump her. That is about all for this week though. I hope that you all are having a most excellent week!
