We got to show off how bad we are at Ping Pong

Elder Jensen and Elder Brimhall

Hello Eeryone!

This week has been pretty slow. Tuesday, we went around and did a bunch of stop by's, and we actually talked to someone that wanted to talk to us! Sure, he was a less active member, but I will take that. He was super nice. We kind of just got to know him that time. He coached a bunch of athletes, and a couple of them are actually playing professionally now, which is really cool (I wish I remembered the names, but I am really bad when it comes to names.) After we left him though, the only other really exciting thing that happened was we biked along the skinniest road in our area that has no sidewalks, and we almost got hit twice. It was fun!

Wednesday, there was no District Meeting, so we just went to work. I had a doctor's appointment that took up a bunch of time. I now have stuff that puts me to sleep pretty easily, but man, waking up in the morning is super weird. The morning after I took that, I woke up, sat up, and then everything started spinning and I fell back over, and I repeated that for the next couple of hours. I am more used to it now, so that is good. But, Wednesday night, we went and talked with Jeff again, which was pretty cool. We had a pretty good discussion of the talk called "His Grace is Sufficient" by Brad Wilcox (which I highly recommend to everyone.). Him and his wife really enjoyed that one.

Thursday, I went and did a ton of reading and studying on finding techniques. I got a few ideas that I want to try out, I just need the opportunities now. We also had Weekly Planning, which sucked up some time, but that is usual. Dinner that night though was awesome! We went over to the Bishop's house, and we had a really fun lesson with them (we actually put our heads together to come up with something that would actually mean something this them). So, we brought a bunch of pads of sticky notes, and a piece of paper, and we drew a tree on it. We then had everyone write down as many "fruits" of the Gospel that they could think of, and then put them on the tree. We then talked about it for a minute, and then brought to the attention that there were a TON of fruits on the tree. We then invited them to share their fruit with others around the, since they thought that these fruits were some of the best around. Then, we went into the basement and we got to show off how bad we were at Ping Pong.

Friday was a little long, but that was because we had Zone Conference. So, I got the official what is happening with the Mission split. I was right about how it was being split. Everything north of the Peoria Stake will go out the Chicago mission, and Peoria will go to the Des Moines, Iowa mission. And depending on where you are when the split happens, you will go to the Mission that your area is in when it happens. It is pretty exciting. Oh, and it will be happening July 1st of this year. But, during Zone Conference, we basically had a huge meeting on how we can find better, which is what I needed., I got a bunch more ideas on what I can do, and that is awesome! After that, we had Naperville 6th over for Exchanges, Elder McDougal and Elder Davis. We were just going to do a bit of studying since none of us had time in the morning, but we got a stressed out text from Danielle, so we went over. A whole bunch of stuff was crashing down on her, so the 4 of us decided to help out by cleaning up her apartment a bit for her, so that she could focus on other things. She was super appreciative for that.

Saturday, we did a bit of work. Elder McDougal and I went and helped the Gillespie's move a truck load of stuff out of the Castle again, and that was fun. Lots of heavy lifting there, but I was happy for the work out. After that we did lunch, and then switched. I then proceeded to walk all over the place with Elder Davis. I think that we did just over 7 miles of walking during our time together. We did a bunch of contacting, and a couple of stop by's, and we did talk to a few people, but nothing super solid. We had a good time together though.

And Sunday as good, as per usual. We had an awesome Testimony meeting, and a ton of kids were getting up this time, and it was awesome to hear their simple testimonies. We also got to teach Gospel Principles that day, and we taught about Fasting. It was good.

Well, that is about it for me. I just want to say a little something here though. It had been a really rough past couple of weeks, let me tell you. It almost feels like this area is working against me and trying to keep the people that we need to be talking to back from us. It is a really discouraging feeling. I know though, that if my companion and I continue to act in faith and go out to find people, the Lord will provide someone for us to teach, that, I have no doubt about. I can also feel all of your prayers for me, and I thank y'all so much for them! Rest assured, this Elder won't give up just because a bunch of people don't want to hear what I have to say. So, I will keep up the fight, and y'all keep up the good work wherever you are at! I love y'all!
