Curious, we went to investigate...

| Oh no! He's coming for us! |
Hello Everyone!
I am indeed getting transferred out of the Schaumburg 2nd Ward. I will talk more about that in a minute though. First, it is time to talk about the week!
Tuesday was pretty alright, even if it was stinking cold. We had to drive down to the Bloomingdale Elders, because their car wasn't starting, and they need a jump. A fat lot of good that did though, because we hooked everything up, and the car still wouldn't start. So, they were stuck inside that day because out here, if it gets below zero, windchill or not, you are not supposed to go out unless you have a car to use. It isn't fun, but we know why they want us to do that.
So, we drove back and finally met Catherine, the investigator that YSA had found for us that they had been trying to pass off to us for the longest time. She seemed pretty nice, and I hope that she gets taught well when I am gone. Then we did a few stop bys, and tracting, and we ran into Itza, who wanted to talk, but was a little busy. So, we set a return appointment for later that night, and moved on. Then we came back to the apartment for Companion Study, and as we were walking out to leave, we notice that there is a bunch of water running down our complex hallway. Curious at this, we went to investigate, and found that the laundry room had a pipe that bust due to the cold, and the room was filled with steam. We may have had a little fun in there before we reported it to the office.
We tried to go and teach Robert Hall after that, but he wasn't home, so we went to teach Joan instead. Basically that lesson was an overview of 1 Nephi, since she wanted to understand the story a bit before she dived in to read it herself. A little bit later, we went back to see Itza, and we taught her the Restoration. That was a pretty cool lesson, and she was very accepting of what a we had to say. She accepted a Book of Mormon, and the YSA Elders are going to be taking over teaching her in a week or two, when her schedule frees up. That should be fun for them. After that, was lesson reports and Missionary Correlation Meeting.
District Meeting Wednesday was alright. We got pretty into detail about how we should be running our mornings so that they are most effective. After that was just lunch and planning a crazy day filled with a ton of stop bys. Sadly not much came out of that, but at least we were out working. We also had a really good Comp Study that day, as we discussed our goals for the year of 2018 together. This year is going to be a great one! We also got to go out to eat with Celeste and Meka that evening, which was super fun.The sad news there is that Meka is off date for baptism, but it is for good reasons. She just wants to make sure that she goes into this 100%., and doesn't want to flake out after she is baptized, which I think is a good thing. We just have to keep working with her and her family, and that soul increase her testimony enough to recommit to baptism.
Thursday was another adventure of helping out at the Church of the Holy Spirit. Man, I love working with those people so much! They are honestly one of the funniest group of old people that I know. We also had a ton of great conversations about our church with them, an some of them are kind of interested in seeing what's up with the Mormons. I have a feeling that a lot of good is going to go down there. After that was another very long Weekly Planning, but thankfully they should never be that long again since the trio is about to be broken up.
Then, the final meeting with Gary. He has decided that he no longer wants to meet with the missionaries, which really stinks, because I liked him a lot. He said that he is still is going to read the Book of Mormon though, so hopefully he meets with the missionaries again down the road. After that though, we went to Institute, and that was fun, because they are starting their Book of Mormon class, and Sister Davis had some pretty cool insights into it. Then we played Volleyball again, but that just turned into a weird mess, because everyone kind of was just do in their own thing. Oh well.
Friday morning, we wandered about in the cold for a bit trying to find people to teach, but funny thing is, people aren't usually outside when it gets really cold. Funny how that works. Let's just say, a lot of doors got knocked that morning. After that, we spent some time looking for new service opportunities, since President Griffin wants us to at least have 10 hours of service each week. It is a lot, but it can be done. We got a few potential places that we can go to now though, so that is good. That was basically our day though, since we were mostly doing a ton of finding that day.
Saturday was fun! We helped out Ray again, and we got his kitchen table cleaned off and shiny again, and we'll as the floor under and around it. I am very proud of that. We also helped him set up his Amazon Dot, and that distracted all of us for a bit. It is pretty cool! Then we swung by Dan's place, and got to talking to him for a bit. The other Elders might be going back there here pretty soon to help lay down a tile floor with him. We then did lunch and studies, and then went to help out Joan again. We helped her sort though a whole bunch of receipts, and the we taught her about fasting since the next day was Fast Sunday. She liked that a lot. What was even cooler though, was her son Todd (who was recently baptized earlier this year) called up, and he bore a really cool testimony to Joan about the power of fasting. That was awesome! I then wrote my final email to the Ward Council, and we went home to await our Transfer Call.
So, here is the news on that. Elder Figgins will be staying here, and he will be working with an Elder Scoresby, who I know nothing about, except that he came out with Elder Taggart. Elder Taggart will be staying in the YSA branch, and he will be training a new missionary. I think that it is funny that he is still in his first area, and he is training now (He has been on his mission for three transfers, or about five months). I am excited for him though. I, and going back to Naperville! I guess they just couldn't get enough of me. That is not all though. So, I am going to the Naperville 1st Ward, which is actually the area that Elder Figgins was in right before he came here, which is pretty cool. I will be with Elder Smith (a different one this time). I also do not get a car anymore, since it is the only full bike area in the mission, so that should be fun. And, to top it all off, I am going to be District Leader! That is going to be a new experience for me. I actually have to teach this Wednesday, and I have nothing prepared because there usually is topics listed for each District Meeting that we are supposed to teach, but there is nothing there this time. This is going to be really interesting. I am excited to try it out though, and see where this takes me.
Sunday was kind of long. There were a ton of fantastic testimonies given though, so that was really cool to listen too. And, we were rewarded a little with a Break-the-Fast Potluck in the YSA branch. That was much needed. After that we went home to change, and then we went to see Joan again(we saw her a lot this week)and she fed us more food, and we talked more about her baptism with her, which should be happening around February time. She was very into that lesson. That took us pretty late into the evening, so we only really got to do studies that night. I also started packing up all of my stuff, since I really need some time to make sure I don't forget anything.
Oh and I also got some good news! I will not be going to Naperville by myself! My District Leader here, Elder Miner, is going to be going down there as well, and he will be my Zone Leader! It is nice that I will have a familiar face down there.
Well, that is about it for me this weeek. That you all for your love and support! I hope that y'all are having a fantastic day wherever you are at!
Elder Jensen
Here's a story for you.

| We found some pretty cool columns out in a frozen lake while we were out finding. |
The Clubhouse at Keyshawn place is pretty cool.
Elder Figgins burned a tie for his 6 month mark.(I did not do this. It seems like a waste.)
