Talofa Elder Faimalo!

Cleaning out the apartment

I got caught drinking...😂

Hello all!

This week has been a fun one, if I do say so myself. It did started with Elder Wells returning home from his mission. I am going to miss him a lot, but I am glad that he has the opportunity to be back with his family now. Also, he left a ton of stuff behind for me(such as this lovely keyboard that I am typing this email up with) and that was cool. I have a new companion now, and his name is Elder Faimalo, the Samoan from California. He is a super funny Elder, and I am glad to be serving with him.

So, our first day together we went out and helped with a move, which was good because he is a really strong Elder, and that helped move things along. What also helped get things rolling was the amount of Young Men that were there to help. This is seriously one of the most active groups of youth that I have ever been around, and it is amazing! There were like 10 Young Men there, and that is not even half of them! That was super cool to see.

Restore this week was fun. We mainly took out a whole bunch of scrap metal and threw it into their scrap dumpster. It was a pretty good workout, because all of it was really heavy! What is really cool too is that some of the employees are starting to ask about what we do besides volunteering at their store. That is awesome! We may get to teach a few of them soon hopefully!

And of course, since there is a new missionary in the area, Captain Mike took us to Golden Corral for lunch this week. I was very happy to eat there again, though Elder Faimalo out ate me by a long shot. For our proselyting efforts, not much has happened in that area this week. We are doing it differently than when Elder Wells was here. We are planning to stop by former investigators and less actives, and spending a little more time actually going around and trying to find new people to teach since our teaching pool right now is kind of small. I kind of like it because it has the chance of finding a new investigator, and I will get to practice my contacting skills a little more, which is something that I really need to work on. But, we have not been very successful in finding new people to teach so far. Not too many people really want to talk to us, but oh well. Someone will say yes eventually, we just have to keep looking for them.

We also had a Mission Tour this week, which was pretty cool. We got to hear from an Area Seventy, Elder Gaverett, and his wife. That was a pretty cool meeting (Even if it was 6 hours long).

Elder Faimalo and I also did a pretty deep cleaning of our apartment this week because there was just a ton of unnecessary stuff in our apartment. We took out about 4 or 5 trash bags full of old food, useless Tupperware, ant other random items and it is looking a lot nicer here in our apartment. We also finally made use of a bookshelf that has just been sitting in our apartment, and it now is holding all of our supplies on it, and I am liking it.

I tried to do a little indexing on FamilySearch recently, but I got very frustrated with it and stopped. I am not very good at it. Maybe in the future though I will try again. But that is so cool that you are finding more names on there! More temple time is good time.  I am actually going to be able to go to the temple this transfer, and I am really excited for that.

Sunday was a pretty good day. We had a good sacrament meeting talking about father's, and I got a chocolate bar! I guess I am now old enough to get that kind of thing on Father's day. We did not have any investigators at church this week. They were all pretty busy, but that is ok. There is always next week for them to come. Well, this is kind of a short one, but that is my week for you guys! If anyone wants to know anything specific, just shoot me an email and I can get on that as soon as I can. I hope y'all  had a great week as well!

PS: I also have a lava lava now, and I wear it every evening. It is very comfy. I will send a pic eventually. Elder Faimalo had an extra one. It is not a formal one, just an orange one that I can wear around the apartment. I don't think I am allowed to wear it anywhere else.

Where did all the food go.......

There's all the food!

ME!(The tablet got a software update, and it had a selfie feature that we were testing out. That was fun.)

Howdy pilgrim...😂

Look how organized we got!

The cupboard with the Tupperware was especially cluttered,

and now is all looks so nice!

Ducks!
This is what the chocolate came in on Sunday
Shoes I got for p-day basketball.  I mostly bought them because I don't want to wear out my service shoes as fast.  I want those to last as long as possible.

A couple of ties that Elder Wells left behind. I am actually wearing the red one right now.

The keyboard that I now have from Elder Wells.

I wrote a talk this week titled Light It Up, that I'll post in another post.  Click here for the link to the talk.
