Week 2

Hello family!

I will say that this week was much better than the last. The MTC is just such an awesome place to be. So, we did something new this week called TRC, which I can't remember what that stands for, which is where we go in as a companionship and teach investigators. I should say though, that they have a pool of teachers playing investigators and some actual investigators. We will never know if they are teachers or investigators though. It isn't all that scary though. We taught two people this week, Adam and Natalie. We started off kind of rough with Adam because he was just constantly on his phone and just didn't look like he cared about learning anything. Each lesson with him  got better though. He got more and more engaged, and I believe Elder Gill and I got a much stronger testimony than he started with. Natalie was really cool! She was really engaged in all the lessons and was asking a ton of questions. We actually did get to extend a baptismal invitation to her, and she really wants to. I probably won't know if she does follow through with it because I will be out in the field by the time she does, but I have a strong feeling that she will be. We get new people next week, and I am really excited to teach them!

Classes are all still going pretty well. I think that the big thing I learned this week was that teaching simply is the easiest way to go. Like, using the words that we are used to like covenant, Atonement and big words like that 9 times out of 10 fly over the heads of most people. But going in and taking the time to use the definitions of those words, like making promises to God, is way easier to use in a lesson, and actually makes sense to investigators. It is really cool how that works. I have also come to really love 2 Nephi 31, just because of how awesome it is and how it really explains the necessity of repentance and baptism.

So, for the Elders in my room with me. Elder Gill, my companion, is still a great guy, and continues to put a smile on everyone's face with his humor. He is also really good at bearing his testimony, and I can tell that he is going great to be a powerful missionary. Elder Rogers is the natural born leader in our district, and he is a  really great guy. He knows his stuff when it comes to the gospel. And Elder Lund, is still cracking all the jokes and keeping us all up late with them, and he is a really good talker and connects really well with his investigators. He also gives the best hugs (We give Zone Hugs every night after Zone Prayer.).

We did do another session another time the temple today, and it still amazes me how much I learn each time I go. I did get my flight info to Chicago this week also and I will be there on the 1st. It is getting so close! And I do have some pictures, but I will send them once I am in a place where I can take my case off  and get the pictures on my tablet. Well, I guess that is all for now. Love you guys Lots!
