How YOU can write to Elder Jensen
Elder Jensen just left to serve the lord for two years. He would love to hear from all of his family and friends...especially during the first few weeks of his mission. There are several ways to get in contact with him.
1. You can write to Elder Jensen while he is at the Missionary Training Center (MTC) in Provo, UT. His address is:
Elder Jensen will only be at the MTC until May 1st, so get those letters out soon! You can send him letters, small packages, non-perishable items, or pictures. We received a letter from the MTC presidency a few days ago regarding packages and mission rules, so I am including it here for clarification.
"Also, please pay close attention to the following instructions:
1. Your service begins the day you check into the MTC. Remind your family that complete separation from loved ones is part of the sacrifice that families and missionaries contribute to the work. For this reason, you should ask your family and friends not to attempt to see or visit with you while you are at the MTC, not even during your temple walks or at other places near the MTC.
2. All missionary mail must come through the US Mail or commercial delivery services. These services should not be used to send pizzas, fast foods, ice-cream, or any items that will spoil if they are not refrigerated within 24 hours. Missionaries are not called out of class to receive packages, nor do they have access to a refrigerator. For security reasons, we cannot accept any items delivered by hand.
3. Communication with family can be done through your missionary email account on your weekly Preparation Day. We cannot accept telephone calls for missionaries.
4. Families and friends should not visit missionaries as they depart to their field of labor, whether at the MTC or at the airport."
2. Another option that is FREE to use while Elder Jensen is at the MTC (must create a user account) is www.dearelder.com They will print off and deliver messages straight to the MTC everyday at noon. Just create a username and password, then select "Provo MTC" in the "Select Mission" drop down box. It will ask you for more information on the next screen...just fill it out as follows:
This website also has pre-made packages that are available for purchase, that you can choose from that conform to MTC package rules. So, if you want to send Elder Jensen cookies...you can with a few clicks! =)
