See ya later Naperville!

Stocking shelves at the Bishop's Storehouse.

You heard it here folks! I am moving on from Naperville! But where could I be going? Only I know, so I guess you will just have to read on and find out! On with this week though!

Tuesday was an alright day. I did a lot of prep for District Meeting that day (which was mostly making sure that everyone else remembered that they were doing things.) After that and a bit of work, YSA came by and we went to dinner together at Portillo's. No, this was not for no reason at all. We were going to do service together afterwards, so there was a method to our madness. What we were doing was helping out at the Bishop's Storehouse. That was a ton of fun. A lot more people than we expected showed up, so it got kind of crowded in there. That went all the way until 9pm, so that was our day there.

Wednesday started off with District Meeting. It was indeed a lot of fun, because I gave everyone a training to do, so I got to hear a bunch of different teaching styles there. I loved it! It also meant that I did not have to teach as much, which is a plus. Then, we went out again for more service with YSA at Feed My Starving Children. It was a pretty busy day there too, and it was a ton of fun. That lead into a bit of work, then dinner, and then the final lesson with Jeff. We finished teaching him all the lessons! Now it is down to an interview, and things will be squared away! I am super excited for him!

Thursday morning we taught Gloria, and we had a pretty good time there with her. We started off talking about Alma 40, which goes into the Spirit World and what happens after we die. She thought that was pretty cool. We then taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and she just loved how simple everything is. Seriously, the gospel message that we have to share is not one of complexity, but simplicity. On the way back from that appointment though, I crashed my bike and got mud all over my favorite sweater. I also did something weird to my back, so I rested that for a little bit before going back out to work. It just didn't feel right. Malik let me borrow this thing that shocks your muscles and massages you, and that helped a bit. We also did our Weekly Planning, so that was nice if it did take up time.

Friday was pretty uneventful. Just walking, and talking with no one really wanting to talk. Oh well. That will change here pretty soon though, since the weather is starting to warm up, so people will be out more, and they will probably be a bit nicer as well.

Saturday and Sunday kind of go together, and I will explain why. We had Generally Conference both days, and man were those some really cool sessions. There were a couple of mike-drop moments (No more High-Preist's group, No home/visiting teaching, 7 NEW TEMPLES!!! AHHH!!!). I was very much enjoying myself. I don't know if anyone else got it, but I got a very prevalent theme of unity coming out of here. I feel that is going to be something that will be very important in these next couple of years. Also, I really enjoyed President Nelson's talk on receiving personal revelation. I will include a link to it with the email. Also,  I will include a link to all of the talks that were given during General Conference. These are the words of living Prophets and Apostles to us today, for our time. I firmly believe that anyone who is seeking guidance for what they need to be doing, can find help here, and I can promise you that.

Well, now you probably want to know what is happening with Transfers. Well, Both Elder Brimhall and I are leaving Naperville 1. Yep, this place is getting a Whitewash. Elder Brimhall will be going to DeKalb. I will be going to Bloomingdale (which is right under Schaumburg 2), and I will not be a District Leader anymore, but my companion Elder Parkinson is. This is going to be fun! I am seeing a pattern of going between Naperville and Schaumburg arising though. That just probably means that I am going to some crazy place after there. I am excited though! A new area begins a new story. Oh, and crazy thing, I hit my 1 years mark in 10 days! What the heck! Time flies when you are doing things right.

Well, thank you all for giving this a read! I just want to leave y'all with a note, that I know God lives. I know He loves us, and He wants to help us out any way that we can. That is why we have living Prophets and Apostles today. The Heavens are not shut, and we can find the guidance from God that we are looking for, we need only ask for it. I hope y'all have a most excellent week wherever you are at!

Elder Jensen

From Elder Jensen's letter to his mom:

Mom: How do you feel you have grown over this past year?  What do you notice about yourself that has changed in the last year?

Elder Jensen: I would say in knowledge a little. Like, there are so many things in the gospel that I had never even thought of that are so cool! Also, I may have matured a little bit more. I am still super goofy and stuff (and maybe got a little more so) but I also feel that I have just become more... Honestly, I don't know how to describe it, but I feel, more confident, more me. You know what a mean? And this last year, it could have been better, but I am looking for a better second year. I think it will be a much better one, especially since I am going to an area that work is really going. I want to keep it up, and really kick start myself.

No duck pictures this week...

Happy Easter!

My silly companion

Got to say goodbye to Jeff and Tonya (Brother and Sister Thomas)
