Happy Eclipse Day!

My eclipse glasses

Man, this week has hit me hard when it has come to sleep. I think that I have gotten up on time about once this week, and it kind of sucks. I have bought some melatonin though, so I am hoping that will help me out. If not, then dang it.

The work this week though has been alright, if a little bit slow again. Tuesday, we looked at our map and picked out a few spots in our area that we had not been to before, just to see what those areas were like. The first spot we picked wasn't actually a place that we could find people to teach, so we crossed that off the list pretty fast. We stopped by one of our investigators in between unknown territory, and we had to temporarily drop him because he is going in for some surgery, and he told us that he is not blowing us off, but he thinks it probably won't be as productive to see I'm while he is recovering from that.

We did some finding around him though and met Jahidra. She was super cool, and we shared the "Because of Him" video with her, and she really liked it. We are going to try and keep meeting with her, but she has a super busy schedule because she is going to school to be a nurse. Then we went on to the bottom of left corner of our area, and met nothing but rejection. It was kind of funny though, because everyone was actually being super polite about it. That kind of made me laugh on the inside.

Wednesday, District meeting was a little different because Elder Faimalo had a bunch for us do trainings instead of just him doing his thing for the entire time. I gave one of those trainings. I thought I was going to do bad, but honestly, I had fun doing it and I took up a lot more time than I meant to doing it. Not much else happened that day though, other than we had a pretty cool talk with a guy named Joseph. I am really hoping that we run into him again, but I seriously doubt it. He never really gave us a specific place or time to meet him, so that is going to be tricky. Oh well.

Thursday was cool. Restore was a lot of in the store work and moving heavy things around, so that was pretty normal. We also drove out to the Mission Office that day to get a new phone. Why do you ask? My companion dropped ours in the toilet, and it would not work when he got it out. We got to meet Elder and Sister Ethington there. They are the new Senior couple in our mission who works in the office They are really nice.

Later that evening was really cool though. Elder Faimalo and I got to talking about how we started off together, and it was kind of funny to hear that neither of us actually thought that we would be working this well together at this point, but I am glad that we are doing good work together.

Friday was just a slow day with not much happening. I think the coolest thing that happened was a lady stopped her car and gave us $20. That was kind of random, but was super cool. And Saturday morning went rough again with finding, which was weird because we usually talk to more people on Saturday because they are actually home.

In the afternoon, we went and did service for Sister Williams. I painted some of her shed, while Elder Faimalo did a bunch of little yard work jobs. We had a good time there. That evening we went to fill up our car, and to put some air in our tire because that warning light had been on for awhile. Turns out, we have a nail in our tire. We are going to fix that in Tuesday.

Sunday was a pretty easy Sunday. We got to hear a homecoming talk from a missionary that just got back from the Mesa, Arizona mission, Elder Despain. That was pretty cool to hear. I did have to take Elder Faimalo home early from church though because he broke out in hives in the morning before church, and the medicine that he took kind of messed him up a little, so I took him home so that he could rest. When he was feeling better, we headed out to our dinner, and then over to Brock and Marie's place. We had to leave right after we got there though, which was kind of sad because it started to rain, and we meet them outside. They did give us some very delicious looking food though, so the visit was not completely without purpose.

And of course, everyone is looking forward to that solar eclipse that is going to happen today, and I am excited myself to see it. And that is about it for this week. I hope y'all are having a good time! Don't blind yourselves looking at the eclipse!  I saw a little bit of it, but just barely. The clouds let up a little, but I did not get any pictures.

Another picture of ducks...  I think he just likes to make me (his mom) crazy with pictures of DUCKS!!

One of our office managers is leaving, so we made her a thing and we are going to put it on a card for her.
