The missionary application photo
After several emails back and forth with President Anderson, we finally have a photo to submit with Caleb's missionary paperwork! The directions on the application state "The missionary candidate should be dressed and groomed according to missionary standards." I read that to mean, "Don't send us a photo of your son in a tank top on the beach." So I sent in this photo...
We got this reply from President Anderson on Feb. 5th
Caleb,
I just completed my recommendation for your application. I reviewed your files and saw your picture in the tee shirt. I know from previous experience that the Missionary Dept. requires a picture of the candidate in missionary attire. Can you have someone take a picture of you with a white shirt and tie and send me the file? Crop the picture so it shows your shoulders and head. If you send me the picture, I can upload the picture to your file and submit it. Thanks, let me know if you need any help.
President Anderson
So I had Caleb put on the top part of his suit and I took this photo and sent it back to President Anderson.

On February 10, 2017, we got another email from President Anderson...
Sister Jensen,
I just heard back from the Missionary Dept. that they need a new picture of Caleb after a shave. He should wear a white shirt and tie again. If you can send me the picture, I will attach it and submit it.
Thanks,
President Anderson
....so we took more pictures. The previous picture was taken about 12 hours after Caleb had last shaved. I didn't realize then that he wasn't freshly shaved, or that it was something I was supposed to look for. I had him put his suit on again and sent him back several times to make sure his face was smooth as a baby's bum. Then I sent to following to President Anderson...
President Anderson,
We had him shave again...the poor guy has really dark facial hair and it shows through his skin even when he's just shaved. I'm including two photos for you to choose from. If we need to do anything else, please let us know.

And this was the winner!! Lesson learned...next time we will do it right the first time! =)
